About Us

Atherstone Nursery School has been established since the 1950's and holds a cherished place in the local community.

Our vision statement: Bright Start, Bright Future ‘Chances to explore, discover and grow’  underpins our work across the Nursery School, we put this into practice through the following aims:

  • We offer a warm, safe, enabling environment for children and their families where they can learn and discover

  • We support each other and work as a happy, reflective team, sharing best practice and ideas

  • We strive for the best outcomes for all children and families in an inclusive environment

  • We value parents as partners and work together to provide the opportunity for children to reach their individual potential

  • We embed integrated working with other agencies and each other to support all children and families

We aim to improve the health, safety, achievement, enjoyment and well-being of all our users, young or old.

Highly qualified staff lead Nursery education sessions with most children starting at the Nursery in the term after their third birthday. Some children have the opportunity to start at an earlier age if there are spaces available and attend for four or five terms.

There is a daily lunch club, which is a 'paid for' service for children attending Nursery for 15hrs. Each session costs £4.00, and can be booked when your child has settled into Nursery, according to availability.

Under certain circumstances, children may be entitled to a 30hr funded place. Please enquire at the office if you feel your child may be eligible for a 30hr place.
